Old School Desk Restoration

I wanted to make a fun personal desk for my son for our home school.
I looked for quite a while for the right desk at the right price.
I finally found one and got to work.
Here is the desk in a sort of before picture:

I had actually already filled in the breaks and cracks and the carved in graffiti,
and I had given it a nice prime before I took these pictures.

So, that said you can imagine what the actual "before" looked like.
Here's the after:

I used wood filler, I sanded, I primed, I spray painted....

I used scrapbook paper that my son chose and
adhered it to the seat with Modge Podge.
I used Modge Podge for paper and I used Modge Podge Hard Coat
for furniture as a top coat.  I purchased everything from Michaels.
I'm not sure how many coats I put on.  I just went with it.

I painted the top of the desk, the bottom of the desk and the back of the seat
with black chalkboard paint.
We are very happy with the turn out.
Looking forward to the 1st Grade.  :-)
